Hannah Cooper (Vocals, Songwriter, Keyboards, Bands)

Music has always been a focal point in Hannah Cooper's life, with her musical journey beginning on Dja Dja Wurrung Country in Woodend with primary school piano lessons. Her introduction to the piano inspired a passion for creativity and song writing, and later led to a keen interest in music production and recording. Hannah is a strong advocate for young people's access to music and songwriting in this way, as both an outlet for emotions and experiences, and as a skill to develop and explore.

For the past 7 years, Hannah has been performing her original music as a vocalist and pianist across both regional venues, including the Macedon Ranges Music Festival and Taradale Festival, and music venues across Melbourne. Whether playing with her 3-piece band or a solo or duo set, her work has allowed her to support many local Melbourne acts and develop her sound in a live setting. Coming from a piano background, Hannah's music is influenced by the work of Jazz-icons Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald, coupled with modern soul music, and she has produced and released two songs, with a larger body of work on the way.

While pursuing music performance and her artist project, Hannah also holds a passion for her broader music community and learning all things music industry. She has been able to continue this learning through working in a myriad of different roles including music management work for record labels Our Golden Friend and David Bridie's Wantok Musik Foundation, working as a presenter and radio editor at 3ZZZ Melbourne Ethnic Community Radio and SYN Radio, and working as a sound technician at Brunswick Music Festival and Birds Basement. These opportunities have given Hannah a wealth of experience across multiple avenues of the music industry which feed into her work as an artist and educator.

In 2023, Hannah graduated from a Bachelor of Arts (Indigenous Studies/English and Theatre Studies) from the University of Melbourne, and a Diploma of Music from the VCA. In 2025, Hannah began a Diploma of Sound Production at RMIT, to up-skill her own music production and live sound techniques, but also bring these skills to education spaces, specifically with the intention to make music technology more accessible for women and non-binary people. In her music teaching, Hannah is passionate about facilitating this access - to music, to creativity, and to play, through promoting a safe and inclusive space for curiosity and learning.
