Jack Dobson is an experienced bassist, producer, composer, educator and multi-instrumentalist  based in Naarm/Melbourne.

He started learning drums in early primary school and grew his love for music playing in school bands. He later started playing bass in early high school which would eventually turn in his career.

Jack studied jazz and improvisation and the University of Melbourne where he learned from and collaborated with some of Australia's finest musicians. He's now a regularly gigging professional musician, performing at renowned venues across Melbourne. He is known amongst his peers for his technical prowess, theoretical knowledge and kind attitude. He's interested in a wide range of music from jazz to drum and bass, folk, indie-rock, you name it!

Jack has over 5 years teaching experience and joined the  Creative Ranges Foundation in 2025. His approach to teaching involves gradually build up skills and knowledge in tiny steps so as not to overwhelm the student, giving them the tools to eventually teach themselves and engage with music on a deeper level.
